NBC Ready to Frighten You

According to Variety, NBC Universal has announced plans to roll out Chiller, a new digital cable channel devoted to horror programming.The new network is set to launch on March 1 and should be in about 12 million homes initially via a deal with DirecTV. The channel also will be offered on DirecTV's new tier of 100 HD channels slated to roll out later this year.NBC Universal has deals in place so they can not only run their own horror classics, but also various horror programming from other studios such as Twin Peaks, Tales From the Crypt, Freddy's Nightmares and Friday the 13th: The Series. NBC is still in talks with other cable operators with regards to deals to carry the channel.
