Donald Pickering 1933-2009
The actor Donald Pickering has died at the age of 76. He passed peacefully at home on December 19th 2009Known to Doctor Who fans for his three appearances in the Classic series. He fist played the role of Eyesen in the 1964 story The Keys of Marinus alongside William Hartnell. Eyesen was the Court Prosecutor, who has succeeded in persuading the Three Judges of Millennium to find Ian guilty of murder.
Pickering returned to the series in 1967, this time with Patrick Troughton, playing Captain Blade in The Faceless Ones. Blade was an airplane pilot at Gatwick Airport whose identity was taken over by a Chameleon.
His final appearance in the series was twenty years later in Sylvester McCoy's first story, Time and the Rani. In this story he played Beyus, the leader of the Lakertyan race, who was forced to serve the Rani alongside his daughter.

Wave 2 consists of: Cyberman From the 5th Doctor story Earthshock, An Ice Warrior, From the 2nd Doctor Story The Ice Warriors, The Morbius Creature from the 4th Doctor story The Brain of Morbius, A Mummy with Canopic Jar also from a Tom Baker story Pyramid of Mars, The Master from The Deadly Assassin and a Voc Robot from Robots of Death. For Sale: One Dalek
Only four of the pepper pot aliens from the 1963 run were ever made, the other three having already been sold.
Bonhams is to auction more than 100 outfits and props from Dr Who, the first time the BBC has done so on such a scale since 1990.
Andrew Beech from the BBC said the Daleks could be dated by their different construction methods.
He said: "The original Daleks were created by a company called Surecraft Models. The 'skirt panels' had round holes in them and the hemispheres were pushed through from the back.
"With the later models, the panels were left intact and the hemispheres glued on."
He added: "I believe this is the last BBC original – the others have been sold off in previous auctions.
