DOCTOR WHO spin-off Torchwood with John Barrowman as Captain Jack is returning for a second series.
The drama has been such a hit on BBC3 – netting its highest audience of 2.4m – that it will switch to BBC2 in 2007.
BBC drama chief Jane Tranter said: “Torchwood is a modern and innovative drama that has truly captured the imagination of its audience.
“We’re very excited that there’ll be more of the adrenaline-fuelled, action-packed adventures of our team of heroes.”
Filming of the drama about a group of investigators using alien technology to solve crime begins in Cardiff next spring. It also stars Eve Myles, Burn Gorman, Naoko Mori and Gareth David-Lloyd.
