With David Greenwalt out of the picture, CBS had to scramble to find someone to take over their new show, Moonlight. Enter Chip Johannessen, who will take over as executive producer and showrunner for the supernatural series. His prior producing credits include Dark Angel, Surface, Beverly Hills 90210, and Millennium.
Greenwalt had previously recast the entire show, with the exception of the main character Mick, played by Alex O'Loughlin. He also tweaked the original storyline... It's unclear if Johannessen will leave things as they are, go back closer to the original, or head in a new direction entirely. Pilot writers Ron Koslow and Trevor Munson plan on staying around as executive producers, along with Joel Silver and Gerald Bocaccio.
