The first series was aimed at adult audiences, but in the second series a specially-edited repeat will be shown that's suitable for families and kids.
The man behind Dr Who and Torchwood, Russell T Davies, told us that the decision was all about the young fans.
"We were aware that an awful lot of our audience love Captain Jack, but wouldn't able to see it," he said.
"So the answer was - let's make a version for a younger audience."
The kid-friendly edited version will be shown a few days after the adult version and is likely to be a few minutes shorter.
Torchwood is an organisation based in Cardiff which investigates alien activity, and it's led by Captain Jack Harkness, who also appears in Doctor Who.
Another character from Doctor Who will also appear in this series of Torchwood - Martha Jones who's played by Freema Agyeman. Captain Jack actor John Barrowman told Newsround that she appears halfway through the series.
"He's rung her up, he's called her in, he needs her help. And who else can he trust? She's part of his old team," he said.
Both versions of Torchwood will be shown on BBC2 from mid January 2008.
