Doc's daughter for new assistant?

Former Doctor Who actor Peter Davison's daughter is apparently hoping to play the Timelord's new assistant.
Georgia Moffett, 23 - who played Abigail Nixon in The Bill - is apparently up against Felicity Jones for the role of assistant which starts in 2010 when current Doctor David Tennant will also be replaced, reports the Daily Star.
Producer Phil Collinson admitted that Georgia caught his attention after auditioning for a role in an episode featuring Agatha Christie in the new series.
"As soon as we saw her, we realised there was a much bigger part later on," he is quoted as saying.
However, other top bosses are hoping that 24-year-old Felicity - who will next be seen in the Diary Of Anne Frank and Brideshead Revisited - takes the coveted part.
A source added: "Several names are in the frame. But Georgia and Felicity are currently on top of the shortlist - both have their merits."
