Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies has apparently revealed he is looking forward to working on a project with a lower profile, sparking rumours he's due to quit the show. The award-winning executive producer, 44, will oversee the fourth series of the show this spring and next year is due to be what he calls a "gap year" with only three one-hour Doctor Who specials, reports the Daily Express. -->
Russell was quoted as saying: "I can't carry on like this forever. The only place for me to go from here is back to six-parters or one-offs that won't have the publicity, the merchandise, the budget, the profile. And I'm so looking forward to it."Meanwhile, the BBC has reportedly announced a full fifth series of the show in 2010 although Time Lord David Tennant and Russell have yet to sign up.The modern revamp of the series, which first started in the 60s, has garnered much critical acclaim and won its biggest ratings ever for the Christmas Day special which starred Kylie Minogue.
