Matt Smith on US LAte Night?

According to the latest twitter posts by craigyferg (post 1, post 2) as well as other information floating around the Internet, it appears that next Tuesday 16th November on the Late Late Show Matt Smith and possibly a Dalek will be making a special guest appearance.

Even though the official site for Craig Ferguson's show makes no mention of the guest appearance, it does make sense given the upcoming filming of Doctor Who that is planned in Utah the following days (17 - 19 November). The official word on the street is that the entire Tuesday show will be dedicated to Doctor Who. I guess we'll all have to wait and see what happens next week to find out if the rumors are true.

Lady Gaga vs The Doctor: Lets hope not.

From colors'nflavors.com: Doctor Who’ scriptwriter Gareth Roberts has revealed that he would like ‘Poker Face’ singer Lady Gaga to star in the show.

Roberts, 42, said Gaga would really fit in as a guest star on the long-running cult British science fiction series with her fondness for dressing up.

“She is no stranger to dressing up and would be more than a match for the Doctor,” the New York Post quoted Roberts as telling OK! Magazine.

“It would be a great coup to get her,” he added.

He has even gone so far as to create a storyline, which he is yet to reveal, for a potential guest-starring role for Gaga, who has not signed for the role as yet.

David tennant in the Hobbit?

Den of Geek is reporting: With filming starting early next year for Guillermo del Toro's two-film take on The Hobbit, news on casting decisions for the new movies is, it's fair to say, quite eagerly awaited. Much of the speculation at the moment surrounds the central role of Bilbo Baggins, which has been linked with the likes of Daniel Radcliffe and James McAvoy thus far.

Yet at the end of last week, another name got chucked into the proverbial ring. And it was the name of the outgoing Doctor Who, David Tennant. Tennant, who is heading to Comic-Con for the first time in a few weeks' time, was being tipped for the role.

11 Doctors - Children in Need

Ok, so the rumor mill is turning again my fellow Doctor Who fans, with this coming from the mirror.co.uk:
A one-off special of Doctor Who is set to bring all 11 incarnations of the Time Lord together for the first time.
The episode will see new Doctor Matt Smith, 26, make his debut, joining David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston and old favourites including Tom Baker, Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy.
The 15-minute show, which starts filming in September, will be shown in November as part of BBC1’s Children in Need appeal.
The stars have waived their fees for the show, in which the 10th doctor, played by Tennant, gets some help from the others to carry out a mission.
The three deceased Time Lords – William Hartnell, Jon Pertwee and Patrick Troughton – will be included by using images from their original shows, stretching from 1966 to 1974.

Doctor to Return to Stage?

The Sun says: The multi-media extravaganza will feature a state-of-the-art light and sound show including many of the cult hit’s best-loved characters.
The Doctor will take on flying DALEKS, croaky CYBERMEN and stocky SONTARANS in the family event. And 3-D footage is expected to be at the heart of the production.
Top brass are plotting to recreate the show’s magic at huge arena venues like the O2 in London and the NEC near Birmingham.
An insider explained: “The BBC know they’ve got a massive hit show on their hands, so they want to take it to the next level.
“They want it to be a Doctor Who experience which will blast fans with amazing visuals and music.
“The emphasis will be on technology so it’s unlikely any of the show’s stars will be on stage.
“But they are expected to feature in video elements. That said, the idea of using real actors hasn’t been ruled out.”
The plans are at an early stage but a source at BBC Worldwide, which handles the corporation’s commercial deals, said an announcement could be made “in a month”.

No Who for Carlyle?

From Dailyrecord: SCOTTISH film star Robert Carlyle has signed up to take the lead role in the new spin-off TV show of sci-fi favourite Stargate.
The move would appear to rule the actor out of replacing fellow Scot David Tennant as the next Doctor Who.
Robert will play Dr David Rush in the new show, Stargate Universe.
He will lead a team of survivors who jump through a stargate when their base is attacked and find themselves on an alien starship.
The show focuses on how they unravel the ship's secrets in a bid to find their way back to Earth.

According to a report from newsoftheworld.co.uk, David Tennant is in talks to stay on as Dr Who until 2011.

Richard Hammond New Who?

From the dailystar: Fans have launched an internet campaign to make Richard Hammond the new Time Lord. They want the 38-year-old to take over the time machine’s controls if David Tennant, 37, leaves. And his admirers have even set up a Facebook group they have called: “Vote for Hammond as the next Doctor”.

RTD Wish List

Slow Doctor Who news these days, have to take the rough with the smooth. Sadly it's about RTD and his thoughts on the future of Doctor Who.
I'll be glad when he's gone...
Davies, who will stand down as lead writer and executive producer of the show next year, has said that he would like to see Tovey, who appeared in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys, take the role of the Doctor and have J.K Rowling guest in a Christmas special.

False McGann Casting According to BBC

As I said Thursday, the McGann story should be taken with a grain of salt...

Digidalspy is reporting: The BBC has rejected tabloid claims that Paul McGann has been cast in a forthcoming Doctor Who special.
A spokeswoman for the show told Digital Spy: "There is no truth to the story at all."

I still like to think there is some truth in the story, McGann could have been one of the best Doctor's given more of a chance on screen. Thanks to his audio stories though, we at least get some nice stories of the 8th Doctor. What do you all think?

I found this tid bit on sylvestermccoy.com, Thought I would pass it on so we could all dream of what might be...
MyParkMag reported that Tom Baker would return to Doctor Who in 2010, then removed the item within 20 minutes. It no longer exists on their website. So, either it was false, had incorrect information, or it has been quickly covered up by the BBC. As there is a rumour that Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy and Peter Davison are returning with David Tennant for a Children in Need, 45th anniversary special, why not Tom Baker?
