I think we're all aware, by now, of the intense lobbying done by William Shatner for a guest spot in the upcoming eleventh Star Trek film. The New York Post is reporting that casting is over, the original James T. Kirk has been left out in the cold. Meanwhile, his buddy Leonard Nimoy HAS been offered a cameo role, and Shatner is reportedly "very upset" over being excluded from the movie...
Early reports indicated that both would appear in J.J. Abrams new film, but with all the rumors surrounding this one who know what's true anymore? Filming is expected to begin this November, and hopefully there's still time to fix what we think is a mistake on the part of the producers. Meanwhile, Shatner's staying busy with his Emmy-winning Denny Crane role on ABC's Boston Legal, and his representative said they were unaware that a decision had been made either way and therefore couldn't comment.
