Could time be running out for Britain's favourite Time Lord? David Tennant is preparing to hang up his sonic screwdriver and vacate the Tardis, according to Doctor Who supremo Russell T Davies.
"People worried when we went from Chris Eccleston to David. But we change our cast every year and our viewing figures go up. It just proves that Doctor Who is bigger than any actor.

Davros Not So Flimsy

The guys over at telegraph.com has a report on the reinventors of Davros in the New series. The next generation Davros began life in the imagination of concept artist Peter McKinstry.
"We wanted to get away from the slightly flimsy look of the earlier series," he says. "So I beefed Davros up, made him more sturdy. I also think that the reinvented Davros is unusual for the new Doctor Who because he is genuinely grotesque."

SPOILERS? Who Knows...Wait and See.

The Guys at io9 have some ideas about this weeks Doctor Who...

1) The Doctor has a failed regeneration, with his severed hand involved somehow, and as a result he turns into two different Doctors, both played by David Tennant. (We showed some pics of Tennant wearing two different colored suits on the beach where he said goodbye to Rose in season two.)
2) The Doctor has a failed regeneration, which splits him into two Doctors, one played by David Tennant (thanks to the severed hand?) and the other played by David Morrissey (who's in the Christmas special later this year playing a character referred to as "the other Doctor" on the actors' trailers.)

Why the Sci-Fi Channel Really Sucks

The season finale of time-traveling adventure show Doctor Who will be much, much longer than a usual episode — 65 minutes instead of the show's usual 45 to 50 minute range. In England, at least. But how long will the episode "Journey's End" be when it airs on the Sci Fi Channel?

Probably about 42 minutes plus commercials — which means a full 20-plus minutes may be cut out of the episode. The Sci Fi Channel famously cut some of the best parts out of last season's Who finale, "The Last Of The Time Lords" — including an amazing dance sequence. But that episode was only slightly longer than average, not 20 minutes longer.

Currently, it's not even clear when Sci Fi will air the episode. The channel's Schedulebot has the episode "Forest Of The Dead" airing this Friday, and then no Doctor Who on July 4. And then the channel is airing "Midnight" on July 11, and has "TBD" down for July 18 and 25... which presumably means the episodes "Turn Left" and "The Stolen Earth". That would put "Journey's End" on August 2nd, and the Sci Fi Channel hasn't announced its August schedule yet. So is it possible that Sci Fi will allow an extra half hour for "Stolen"? Or just make it a two-hour event, with even more commercials than usual? Yes, it's possible. The main constraint is that Sci Fi is showing new episodes of Stargate: Atlantis right after Who on Friday nights this summer. So for the episode to run long, it would have to start earlier in the evening, at 8 instead of 9. Right now, Sci Fi is re-running magical realism show Joan Of Arcadia on Fridays at 8 in July. So pretty much our only hope is that Sci Fi might ditch Joan for a week, and give us a heavily commercial-padded 90- or 120-minute running of the finale. (And then edit it down for reruns.) But I don't hold out much hope, honestly.

Doctor Who Wraps Up Season -SPOILERS-

As Doctor Who comes down the stretch of the last full season until 2010, it looks like everyone dies and the Daleks end up ruling Earth -- more or less. So, are there spoilers ahead? Of course there're spoilers ahead. There's only three episodes left in the season. The Doctor and crew aren't going to sit around playing Canasta.

Rose returns in this weekend's episode, Turn Left, to aid his current companion, Donna, in piecing time and space back together. The Doctor and Donna have evidently run afoul of the Shadow Proclamation (a term that's been popping up all season long). From what can be pieced together from the next episode'strailer, a creature on Donna's back alters time and finds The Doctor dead. That death starts a chain reaction leaving Martha (Donna's predecessor) dead, Sarah Jane Smith (the Doctor's favorite companion) dead, Torchwood wiped out and the planet ravaged by the Sontarans and the Adipose. The returns of all those characters have been rumored all season long, so these rumors could be true.

That obviously would leave a lot of temporal anomaly clean up to do. Unfortunately, before that work is done, the long-rumored return of Davros and the Daleks becomes real in Episode 12, The Stolen Earth. Could the Shadow Proclomtion be connected to Davros somehow? Fans will learn the truth in a couple of weeks.

Then, Who will take a year off from full-time production, airing four special before returning for a full run under Steven Moffatt in 2010.

Davros is Back

The Daleks’ wrinkly creator makes a terrifying comeback in the final two episodes of the current series of the BBC1 sci-fi hit.
The hideous baddie, now played by Shakespearian actor Julian Bleach, was last seen entering an escape pod in Remembrance of the Daleks in 1988.

First introduced in Genesis Of The Daleks 13 years earlier, his appearance is the result of an explosion on the Daleks’ world Skaro.
His life was saved by putting him in a life-support wheelchair resembling a Dalek’s lower half.
And Davros is not the only shock for the Doctor as a killer RED Dalek also bursts on to the scene.
A show insider said: ?The final episodes are the best yet as the Daleks try to destroy the Doctor once and for all.
?Billie Piper is back as his old pal Rose to help, but it’s a big battle.?

Dr Who's enemy Davros to make a comeback

The Timelord must face the megalomaniac scientist, last seen entering an escape pod in 1988, in the final two episode of the long-running BBC1 show.
Now played by the Shakespearian actor Julian Bleach, the character plans to use his creations, the Daleks, to become the supreme ruler of the universe.
Created by screenwriter Terry Nation, he was first introduced in Genesis of the Daleks in 1975, and last appeared thirteen years later in Remembrance of the Daleks.
Horribly scarred and crippled after an explosion on his planet, Skaro, he had only one functioning arm and a robotic "eye" mounted on his forehead.
A master of robotics, the villain depended completely upon a self-designed mobile life-support chair which enclosed the lower half of his body.
This became the inspiration for his deadliest creation, and Dr Who's nemesis, the Daleks.
The return of his old enemy is not the only shock for the time-travelling Doctor, played in the current series by David Tennant.
Dr Who and his sidekick Rose, played by Billie Piper, are also faced with a new and deadly red Dalek.

Donna's (Catherine Tate) world falls apart, and there's no sign of the Doc (David Tennant). Who should turn up to her rescue but a blonde lady thought to have been trapped in a parallel universe ...

The companions team up - but can they save the world from 'the darkness'?
Of course we all want to know whether Rose and the Doc get it together, but Billie insists there's more to their characters than that.
She told the Radio Times: "The Doctor has turned her life on its head for the better.
"She found this person who has made her celebrate life and humanity, and said: 'Look, you should have this zest for life because here are the reasons why it's great.
"Sometimes you need someone to shake you and make you look at what's going on around you and make you want to be a better person."
Aw. Rose will also join forces with Martha (Freema Agyeman) in next week's finale. "The tragedy (of the Doctor and Martha's relationship' was that she fell quietly in love with him," said Who reviver Russell T Davies.
Will sparks fly between Martha and Rose? Who can say, but Freema simply says that, "there's a wonderful moment that just emphasises how much he needs them all in different ways and how they are very much part of a team within his life."
Sounds like a beautiful thang!

Piper 'jumped' at Doctor return

Piper bowed out of the popular BBC One show in 2006, after playing the Time Lord's assistant for two full series.
She will be seen in the 21 June episode of the current series - her first full appearance since the Doctor left her in a parallel world.
"I wouldn't have missed this for anything," the 25-year-old told Doctor Who Magazine.
"It means so much to me, this show, and so do the people that make it, so I really wanted to be here for these final episodes."
Piper admitted she had to do a little homework before slipping back into the role.
"I had to watch a lot of the old stuff, so I could remember certain things about the character, because I've been playing posh birds since I left Doctor Who," she said.

"Rose is a bit of a chav, bless her. I needed to hear the voice and watch the posture and everything, but then the minute you get on set, and you've got Russell T Davies' scripts, and he remembers how to write so well for Rose, you're back there on day one, really."
But Piper, who recently married actor Laurence Fox, promised a few changes for her character.
"She has changed. She's hardened. She's been through a lot in her parallel world. I think she's been through emotional turmoil.
"She's quite sad and lonely, but also really bolshy and - that great quality that Rose has - just so headstrong and single-minded."
Despite her guest appearance, Piper maintains that leaving at the end of the second series was the right thing to do.
"I did feel it was time to leave, but not because I was bored, just because on a professional level - and on a personal level, actually - I felt that I needed to take on a different challenge," she said.

The Doctor's Love

It's taken him a thousand years or so, but the Doctor has finally pulled. Yes, the Time Lord is getting a Time Lady...
In Saturday's episode David Tennant's Dr Who meets Professor River Song, played by the lovely Alex Kingston of ER and Moll Flanders fame.
River is an archaeologist from the 51st century and soon makes it clear that she's had a very close encounter with the Doctor in another time. A show source says: "The Doctor introduces himself to River Song, and it becomes clear they've been an item - but in the future."
Eventually romance blossoms and is actually played out over two episodes, reaching a climax (so to speak) next week.
In the past, the Doctor has flirted with his female sidekicks but despite the occasional peck on the cheek they've never gone the distance..
But this is obviously a match made in heaven - Professor Song has her own sonic screwdriver.

Lizo reviews eighth episode of Dr Who

CBBC's Lizo reviews the eighth episode of the fourth series - Silence in the Library.
The Doctor and Donna land in the biggest library in the universe - so large it fills an entire planet.
It's also a place where something terrible happened in the past, and it's now completely deserted.
That is until a team of explorers arrive. And soon they're all in danger, because there's something lurking in the shadows.
This is easily the best episode so far this series.
